The pencil is tool that is used for writing and drawing that was invited by Conrad Gessner, Willian Munroe, and Nicolas-Jacques Conte. It is made of a pigment core and a protective casing that is usually wooden, this casing it used to prevent the core from breaking when dropped, or even from drawing on the user’s hand.
The pigment core of a pencil is created from a mixture of graphite power and clay. Usually called “lead” pencils, traditional pencils make grey or black marks that can be easily erased when drawn. The darker the pencil draws, the harder it will be to erase.
A pencil is able to work through the use of abrasion. It is able to do this by putting pressure on the end of the pigment core and drawing it on paper. Unlike pens, they are erasable and the instead of running out of ink, the pencil will be sharpened until it is too short for use.
